Our Client is seeking a Java Technical Lead to provide hands-on leadership for a critical enterprise application platform. This role is ideal for a senior Java professional who enjoys architecting solutions, mentoring engineers, and driving software delivery while remaining actively involved in development. Remote candidates are welcome but must reside in the Indianapolis metro area and be available for occasional onsite meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise software solutions
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures
- Drive the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support
- Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, shared services, and microservices
- Troubleshoot complex application and production issues
- Establish engineering standards, code quality practices, and release processes
- Mentor developers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical coaching
- Support project planning, estimation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and engineering excellence
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- At least 7+ years of Java development experience
- 3+ years in a Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or Engineering Lead role
- Proven success delivering enterprise-scale software solutions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
