The Electrical Engineer II will apply their professional and technical expertise to designing electrical engineering concepts and options that align with the owner’s vision for each project. This individual should have a solid understanding of the consulting engineering process and the contractual documents which are involved.

Key Tasks:

  • Design electrical systems for commercial projects, including lighting, power distribution, emergency power, fire alarm, security, and related systems
  • Develop cost-effective system layouts, equipment sizing, specifications, and ensure code compliance
  • Create and coordinate BIM/Revit drawings with multi-disciplinary teams throughout all project phases, from schematic design through construction documents
  • Perform construction administration activities such as site visits, shop drawing reviews, and punch list preparation
  • Define project scope, maintain alignment with contract documents, and proactively manage scope changes to support project success and client satisfaction
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, owners, contractors, consultants, and code officials
  • Mentor junior electrical designers and provide technical guidance
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of electrical design experience for commercial buildings; Experience in aviation, higher education, healthcare, hospitality, entertainment, or government facilities preferred
  • 2+ years of coordinating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Experience with design-build, design-bid-build, fast-track, and other project delivery methods
  • Strong knowledge of applicable local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations
  • Proficiency with Revit MEP and other engineering design software
  • Experience preparing technical specifications, project manuals, and coordinating subconsultant documentation
  • Strong understanding of electrical equipment selection, system configuration, cost control, and value engineering
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality deliverables
  • Ethical, professional, and able to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Effective at managing resources and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • PE license or EIT certification preferred
