The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s accounting policy function, including the development, implementation, and governance of accounting policies under U.S. GAAP. This role provides technical accounting guidance on complex and non-routine transactions, supports financial reporting initiatives, and partners with finance leadership to ensure accurate accounting records, compliance, and effective financial close processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the organization’s technical accounting resource by monitoring emerging accounting standards and assessing their impact on the business
- Lead the implementation of new accounting guidance and maintain accounting policies and procedures
- Provide technical accounting support for complex transactions, business initiatives, and strategic projects
- Manage general accounting operations and ensure the integrity of financial records
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Prepare and review financial reports, analyses, and management reporting packages
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances
- Coordinate audit support and prepare schedules and documentation for external auditors
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements and related disclosures
- Partner with finance and cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency
- Support internal control initiatives, including documentation and compliance activities
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience supporting audits and financial reporting processes
- CPA designation preferred
- Prior supervisory or management experience preferred
