RESPONSIBILITIES

Concretely, you would own:

  • Point-of-sale integrations. Foodics is live, Syrve is next. Reading orders, costs and inventory out of systems whose documentation is optimistic, and making the numbers tie exactly.
  • Document intake. Most financial data does not arrive by API, it arrives as a PDF. Bank statements (often password-protected), supplier invoices, payroll, delivery settlements. Classifying them, extracting real figures, and holding the month open honestly when something is missing rather than guessing.
  • Per-customer correctness. Every business is configured differently. Your job is that each one’s reports are right, every day, without being asked.
  • Reliability. Deploys, migrations, monitoring, alerting. Right now there is no test suite. You would build it and decide what gets covered first.

THE ONE RULE THAT MATTERS

Claude does the reading. The code does all of the arithmetic.

This is a finance product, so a figure that is off by one is not a cosmetic bug, it is the product failing at the only thing it promises. A lot of the interesting work is building guardrails so a language model can read a messy bank statement without ever being trusted to add the numbers up. If that distinction is interesting to you rather than annoying, you will enjoy this.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 2 to 4 years writing Python in production. If you have less but can show us the work, apply anyway and point us at it.
  • You have integrated third-party APIs that were badly documented and occasionally wrong, and you handled the failures without inventing data.
  • Stubborn about data being correct. You would rather say “I do not have that number yet” than publish a plausible one.
  • You can work without someone reviewing every line, because for a while nobody will be.

NICE TO HAVE, NOT REQUIRED

  • Flask, Postgres, Railway or similar platform-as-a-service.
  • LLM APIs in production, especially structured extraction from documents.
  • Point-of-sale, accounting, fintech or restaurant tech.
  • Arabic. Genuinely useful here, not decorative
