Our Client  is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Storage). .The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in backend development, distributed systems architecture, data consistency models, replication strategies, fault tolerance, and cloud-native technologies. You should be able to articulate real-world experience designing storage solutions and explain concepts such as consistency guarantees, replication behavior, sharding, and distributed system scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and reliable backend services supporting distributed storage platforms
  • Build solutions that address data availability, consistency, replication, and fault tolerance requirements
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to system design decisions for distributed systems
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide operational support
  • Participate in on-call rotations and support critical production systems
  • Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones
  • Optimize system reliability, performance, and scalability through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain RPC-based services and high-throughput backend components
Requirements
  • Expert-level backend development experience using Rust
  • Working knowledge of Golang, Java, and Python
  • Familiarity with C/C++ and the ability to understand and troubleshoot systems built in these languages
  • Experience delivering production-grade services in large-scale environments

Direct experience building, designing, or operating distributed storage systems or storage platform components, including:

  • Data consistency models and associated trade-offs
  • Replication strategies and fault tolerance mechanisms
  • Data partitioning and sharding architectures
  • Routing, resharding, and scalability approaches
  • Distributed systems behavior under failure scenarios
  • High-availability storage system design principles

Strong foundation in Data Structures and Algorithms:

  • Trees, graphs, hash tables, heaps
  • Dynamic programming
  • Algorithmic problem solving

Proven experience designing:

  • Distributed systems
  • Highly available services
  • Scalable backend architectures
  • Fault-tolerant platforms

Deep understanding of:

  • Multi-threading
  • Asynchronous programming
  • Concurrency models
  • Thread synchronization patterns
  • Performance optimization in concurrent systems

Experience designing and implementing RPC-based services using technologies such as:

  • gRPC
  • Apache Thrift
  • REST APIs alone do not satisfy this requirement

Service discovery solutions such as:

  • Consul
  • ZooKeeper

Service mesh technologies such as:

  • Envoy
  • Istio
  • IPv6 networking concepts and implementation
  • Microservices and distributed service environments
