Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Investment Accounting team. This position will be responsible for analyzing and reconciling investment-related accounts, supporting the monthly close, preparing journal entries and financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with applicable GAAP and statutory accounting requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong financial accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and experience working with complex investment or financial statement accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations and analyses
• Analyze complex accounting records and financial statements
• Prepare journal entries and accounting adjustments
• Support GAAP and statutory investment disclosures and reporting
• Perform analytical reviews as part of the monthly closing process
• Prepare and support monthly financial close and financial statements
• Apply appropriate accounting treatment for various investment classes, including fixed income, equities, mortgage loans, cash equivalents, and alternative investments
• Research and respond to questions regarding financial results
• Support annual external audits and budgeting activities
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements and compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
• Identify and troubleshoot accounting issues and discrepancies
