The Prompt Engineer will design, test, and refine prompts for AI systems that support product features, internal operations, and customer-facing tools. Responsibilities include analyzing user workflows, translating business needs into effective prompt structures, and iteratively improving AI outputs through experimentation and evaluation. The role involves collaborating with product, engineering, operations, and customer success teams to integrate prompt-based solutions into the platform and documentation. The Prompt Engineer will also create internal guidelines, maintain prompt libraries, and monitor performance and quality to ensure reliable and safe AI behavior.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in prompt design, iteration, and evaluation for large language models (LLMs), with the ability to translate business requirements into clear, structured instructions.
• Experience with data analysis and experimentation, including A/B testing prompts, measuring performance, and using quantitative and qualitative feedback to optimize AI behavior.
• Background in software, product, or technical work (e.g., scripting, APIs, or workflows) and familiarity with modern AI tools and platforms.
• Excellent written communication skills for documenting prompts, creating usage guidelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple projects, and prioritize in a fast-paced startup setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as Computer Science, Engineering, Linguistics, Mathematics, or similar), or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in proptech, fintech, utilities, or SaaS platforms is a plus, as is prior work with rental property operations or billing workflows.
• Commitment to ethical and responsible AI use, including awareness of bias, data privacy, and safety considerations.
