The Network Engineer is responsible for hands-on lab infrastructure work, including cable installation, terminations, labeling, and ensuring all physical network components are installed and documented to a high standard. This role supports engineering and testing teams by delivering reliable, well-organized lab environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Layer 1 network build activities, including cable routing, installation, and equipment connectivity
- Install, terminate, test, and manage coax, Cat5/Cat6, and fiber cabling
- Support installation and physical setup of network devices, including ONUs
- Label and organize network equipment, cabling, and patching infrastructure
- Maintain clean, scalable, and well-documented lab environments
- Ensure all builds follow established standards for cable management and documentation
- Support lab operations by maintaining infrastructure readiness for testing and development
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Layer 1 network infrastructure
- Experience with coax, Cat5/Cat6, and fiber cabling installation and termination
- Familiarity with network hardware installation and physical connectivity
- Ability to accurately label and document network builds
- Basic computer skills and experience working in technical environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in lab, testing, or network infrastructure environments
- Background in cable installation or field operations
- Familiarity with structured cabling standards and fiber connectivity
- Experience supporting broadband or access network environment
