The Developer will work within an Agile team responsible for building scalable, secure, cloud-ready solutions that support critical business capabilities. This role involves developing microservices, implementing API integrations, improving application performance, and supporting ongoing digital transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Java Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, business analysts, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions
- Develop scalable and secure applications following enterprise development standards and best practices
- Participate in architecture discussions, application design reviews, and code reviews
- Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective solutions
- Develop automated unit, integration, and performance tests
- Support CI/CD pipeline implementation and DevOps practices
- Integrate applications with databases, messaging platforms, and external systems
- Contribute to cloud migration and modernization efforts where applicable
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement
Requirements
- 7+ years of Java experience
- 5+ years of Spring Boot experience
- 5+ years of REST API Development experience
- 5+ years of SQL Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) experience
- 4+ years of Microservices Architecture experience
- 3+ years of Git/Source Control experience
- 3+ years of CI/CD Tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.) experience
- 3+ years of Agile/Scrum Methodology experience
- 2+ years of Docker/Containerization experience
- 2+ years of Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) experience
Preferred:
- Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift
- Experience with Kafka or enterprise messaging platforms
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture patterns
- Experience with API gateways and security frameworks
- Exposure to distributed systems and cloud-native applications
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Prior experience within financial services or regulated industries
