As an Applications Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, integrating, and supporting vehicle electronic systems-from initial concept through field deployment. What You’ll Do:
- Design and configure vehicle control systems using ladder logic and related programming methods
- Integrate and troubleshoot CAN-based multiplexing systems, including J1939
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to define application requirements and deliver tailored solutions
- Interpret electrical schematics and develop system architecture and wiring documentation
- Support field installations, commissioning, and customer troubleshooting
- Provide technical training and create clear documentation for internal and external users
- Serve as a technical resource for complex vehicle electrical challenges
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with vehicle electronics
- Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles
- Experience working with 12V / 24V vehicle electrical systems
- Practical knowledge of CAN networks and diagnostic tools
- Experience supporting field installs or customer-facing technical issues
- Willingness to travel nationally up to 50% of the time (typically two weeks per month)
