Our Client is seeking an Accounting Analyst.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including asset additions, transfers, retirements, and disposals
- Track and monitor capital project expenditures to ensure proper capitalization and accounting treatment
- Review project costs and determine appropriate classification between capital and operating expenses
- Maintain the fixed asset subledger and reconcile to the general ledger
- Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Assist with depreciation calculations and reporting
- Partner with project managers, operations, and finance teams to ensure accurate project cost tracking
- Support internal and external audit requests related to fixed assets and capital projects
- Assist with process improvement initiatives and documentation of accounting procedures
- Analyze large data sets and prepare financial reports for management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably with fixed assets, capital projects, or general ledger accounting
- Strong understanding of GAAP and fixed asset accounting principles
- Experience with account reconciliations and month-end close processes
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis
- Experience working in a large corporate environment preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- ERP experience required (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365, Workday, or similar)
Preferred:
- CPA or CPA-track preferred
- Experience supporting large-scale capital projects
- Knowledge of construction-in-progress (CIP) accounting
- Experience with fixed asset management systems and reporting tools
