The TAKT Scheduler serves as the project planning and production flow leader responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining TAKT-based schedules that drive predictable workflow, reliable handoffs, and continuous production across project teams. This individual works closely with project management, superintendents, trade partners, and owners to create and manage production plans using TAKT planning principles, Lean construction practices, and collaborative planning processes. The TAKT Scheduler supports project teams by translating construction scope into takt zones, wagons, production rates, and flow-based schedules while ensuring alignment with master CPM schedules and project milestones.
Key Responsibilities: Planning & Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain TAKT production schedules for large and complex construction projects
- Create and manage takt zones, wagons, production rates, and workflow sequences
- Align TAKT schedules with Primavera P6 master schedules and contractual milestones
- Monitor planned versus actual performance and adjust production plans as needed
- Develop recovery plans and schedule improvement strategies when workflow disruptions occur
Lean Construction Leadership:
- Facilitate pull planning, phase planning, and collaborative planning sessions with project teams and trade partners
- Drive implementation of Lean Construction principles and continuous improvement practices
- Support Last Plannerx System implementation and commitment-based planning processes
- Lead production planning discussions focused on flow, handoffs, and constraint removal
Project Controls & Analysis:
- Analyze production data, schedule performance, and workflow trends
- Prepare schedule reports, dashboards, and forecasting updates for project leadership and clients
Requirements
- Hands-on TAKT scheduling experience on large, complex construction projects, including building and maintaining TAKT production schedules
- Strong TAKT planning knowledge, specifically creating takt zones, wagons, production rates, workflow sequences, and reliable trade handoffs
- Primavera P6 experience, with the ability to align TAKT production schedules to the master CPM schedule and contractual milestones
- Strong Lean Construction background, including experience facilitating pull planning, phase planning, Last Plannerx System, and collaborative planning sessions with field teams and trade partners
- Project controls and schedule analysis skills, including tracking planned verses actual performance, identifying schedule risks/constraints, and developing recovery and mitigation plans when production falls behind
