Our Client is seeking an experienced Snowflake Data Engineer to support the development and implementation of data interfaces within a modern, cloud-based Snowflake data platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines within the Snowflake platform
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows for efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading
- Perform data analysis, mapping, transformation, and data modeling aligned with data warehousing best practices
- Develop and manage database objects such as schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, triggers, and indexes
- Ensure performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting of Snowflake workloads
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a distributed Agile environment
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering with strong SQL expertise
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling techniques
- Experience building pipelines and managing data ingestion into/from Snowflake
- Proficiency in backend development, including schema and database design
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Azure and Snowflake ecosystems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
- Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or Waterfall)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including:
- SQL scripting
- Data loading/unloading
- Snowpipe
- Performance tuning and optimization
Preferred/nice to have:
- Experience with ETL tools such as Matillion
- Domain knowledge of utilities or billing systems
