Job Overview

The mechanical engineer designs and develops new products using sound engineering principles. He/she proposes modifications and solutions to problems with existing products. The mechanical engineer performs various engineering calculations including stress analysis. He/she creates bills of material and assembly instructions. • Performs development engineering, for both new and existing products.
• Maintains product safety in all designs.
• Performs design prototyping, including field implementation and testing.
• Provides technical support to other departments and field service personnel.
• Follows required regulatory codes.
• Performs engineering calculations as required.
• Creates Bills of Materials.
• Checks and releases drawings produced by designers and drafters.
• Prepares assembly instructions.
• Performs tolerance stack-up verification.
• Diagnoses problems with mechanical designs and generates solutions.
• Works with electrical and controls engineers to develop multi-disciplinary products and solutions.
• Other duties may be assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor?s degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering.
• 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Mathematical skills per engineering degree requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Engineering expertise ? machine design, strength of materials, metallurgy, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid power.
• Experience with 3d modeling, preferably in SolidWorks
• Experience with AutoCAD, MathCAD and ANSYS.
• Knowledge of electrical and control systems
• Knowledge of drilling engineering principles, drilling practices, and drilling rigs.
• Knowledge of drafting principles.
• Design creativity
• Knowledge of manufacturing (ERP) software
• Knowledge of oilfield regulatory requirements
