Our Client is seeking an experienced Director of Revenue Accounting to oversee all aspects of Revenue Accounting, including Gross-to-Net (GTN), pricing analysis, daily sales reporting, and customer/rebate accounting. This is a highly visible leadership role reporting to the VP of Finance, with responsibility for managing a small team and partnering closely with Commercial, Sales & Marketing, Contracts & Pricing, FP&A, IT, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of Revenue Accounting, including Gross-to-Net calculations, rebates, discounts, fees, and pricing
- Capture and interpret government and commercial contract pricing and ensure financial commitments are accurately accrued
- Lead daily sales reporting and ensure timely and accurate net sales reporting to management
- Prepare month-end schedules, management reporting packages, and supporting analyses
- Perform ASP, customer pricing, rebate, and product sales trend analysis
- Reconcile variances and provide estimates and analytical support to Finance
- Support Gross-to-Net due diligence related to potential business development opportunities
- Work closely with FP&A to provide GTN forecast rates, working capital analysis, and inputs for forecasting and long-range planning
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and compliance policies while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and automation
- Leverage contract management systems to automate pricing and payment updates supporting GTN calculations
- Partner with IT to automate and improve daily sales reporting
- Facilitate monthly Finance meetings to review and sign off on final Net Sales
- Maintain Average Net Selling Price analysis across branded and generic pharmaceutical products
Requirements
- 7-10 years of progressive Gross-to-Net Accounting experience within the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience with rebates, discounts, fees, pricing, and other GTN components
- Experience analyzing product sales trends at the customer and wholesaler level
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical revenue accounting and contract interpretation
- Strong business partnering skills with the ability to collaborate effectively outside of Finance
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables; Access database experience is a plus
- Strong analytical, managerial, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to make sound business decisions and present recommendations/business cases to management
- Experience with I-Contracts, Model N, or CARS is a plus
- SAP General Ledger experience is a plus
