The Developer Advocate AI Enabled SDLC will act as a practical teacher, trusted advisor, and frontline enabler, bridging the gap between AI platform capabilities and real-world developer usage. This is not a traditional external Developer Relations role. Instead, you will work internally to transform how engineering teams build software by enabling developers to effectively use AI tools in their day-to-day workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Enablement (Primary Focus):
- Design and deliver hands-on training sessions covering: Coding, testing, debugging; Documentation, code review, and security review
- Conduct live demos and host office hours to support adoption
- Lead hackathons, innovation events, and monthly learning sessions
- Create quick-start guides and just-in-time learning resources
- Measure training effectiveness and continuously improve content
- Identify, recruit, and onboard AI Champions across engineering teams
- Provide ongoing support and enablement to the champion network
- Facilitate weekly Community of Practice sessions
- Track champion performance and team adoption metrics
- Recognize and celebrate champion contributions
- Serve as the primary technical contact for day-to-day workflow questions
- Conduct 1:1 consultations with teams struggling with adoption
- Gather and synthesize developer feedback for the program team
- Identify and escalate blockers within 48 hours
- Build strong relationships with engineering managers to drive adoption
- Collect real-world use cases, pain points, and success stories
- Partner with the Principal Architect to validate workflow designs
- Test prompts and workflows in real-world scenarios before rollout
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on software development experience in production environments
- 3+ years in a developer-facing role (Developer Advocate, DevRel, Technical Trainer, Solutions Engineer, etc.)
- 2+ years working with AI/ML tools, ideally AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, CodeWhisperer, Cursor)
- Ability to write, debug, and review code in real time during live sessions
- Deep understanding of developer workflows and pain points
- Proven credibility with senior engineers
- Proven success delivering technical training to diverse audiences
- Experience building or managing developer communities or champion networks
- Proficiency in at least two languages: Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or C#
- Experience with modern development workflows (Git, CI/CD, code reviews)
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and prompt engineering
- Understanding of SDLC and DevOps practices
- Experience with enterprise platforms (GitHub Enterprise, GitLab, etc.)
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Empathy for developer experience and challenges
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts
- Coaching mindset with patience across all skill levels
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and fast-changing environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with large-scale technology transformation programs
- Background in change management or adoption initiatives
- Familiarity with enterprise AI governance and compliance
- Knowledge of developer productivity metrics (DORA, SPACE)
- Industry experience in telecom, financial services, or regulated environments
- Certifications in training, coaching, or instructional design
