Our Client is seeking a Buyer/Procurement Specialist responsible for purchasing inventory while ensuring products are acquired within established cost, quality, and delivery standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers, sales teams, finance, and logistics partners.
Responsibilities:
- Review buying guides and place purchase orders with suppliers to maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Ensure purchase orders are accurate for pricing, quantities, freight, and delivery dates
- Monitor inventory through daily reports and take action to address out-of-stock, over-allocated, and other inventory issues
- Confirm purchase orders and resolve discrepancies related to pricing, freight, quantities, or delivery schedules
- Manage inventory levels, dated products, returns, and replenishment activities
- Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely product deliveries
- Maintain vendor and item master data, including pricing, freight terms, ship points, and other key information
- Collaborate daily with sales teams, suppliers, finance, and internal stakeholders to support business needs
- Analyze purchasing and inventory data to identify trends and improve performance
Requirements
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Excellent cross-functional communication abilities
- Ownership mindset with proactive problem-solving skills
- Experience managing purchase orders, inventory, and vendor relationships
- Proficiency with Excel and inventory management systems
Preferred:
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, or supply chain operations
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with vendors, suppliers, and cross-functional teams
