We are seeking a skilled Data Migration Specialist with deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O).
The role involves planning, executing, and validating data migration activities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with business requirements.
The ideal candidate will understand both the functional aspects of D365 F&O and the technical data migration framework, enabling seamless transition from legacy systems.
Key Responsibilities :
Data Migration Planning & Execution :
– Design and implement data migration strategies aligned with D365 F&O framework.
– Define the sequence of data migration (master data, configuration data, transactional data) to ensure system integrity.
– Develop and maintain migration scripts, templates, and mapping documents.
System Functionality & Framework :
– Apply knowledge of D365 F&O modules (Finance, Supply Chain, HR, etc.) to validate migrated data against functional requirements.
– Ensure compliance with Microsofts Data Management Framework (DMF) and best practices.
Error Management & Resolution :
– Identify, analyze, and resolve data migration errors using D365 tools and logs.
– Establish error-handling protocols and provide guidance to team members for corrective actions.
– Document issues and resolutions for audit and knowledge-sharing purposes.
Collaboration & Communication :
– Work closely with internal consultants to align migration activities with functional design.
– Communicate effectively with clients, providing status updates, issue escalations, and resolution plans.
– Facilitate workshops and training sessions to guide stakeholders on data migration processes.
Quality Assurance :
– Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and sign-off activities with business stakeholders.
– Ensure migrated data meets accuracy, completeness, and compliance standards.
– Support mock runs, dry runs, and final cutover activities.
Required Skills & Experience :
– Strong knowledge of D365 Finance & Operations functionality across core modules.
– Hands-on experience with Data Management Framework (DMF), data entities, and migration tools.
– Proven ability to define and manage data migration sequence (master, reference, transactional data).
– Expertise in error handling, troubleshooting, and reconciliation during migration.
– Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal consultants and external clients.
– Experience in large-scale ERP implementations and data migration projects.
– Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
– Excel skillsknows commonly used formulas like vlookup, concatenate etc.
